Marvel Rivals Anniversary Skins: Rivals' Day 2025

PUBLISHED Sep 21, 2026

Marvel Rivals anniversary skins are the costumes released for the game's birthday event, Rivals' Day, which ran from 27 November to 17 December 2025 to mark one year since launch. It was the most generous giveaway the game had run, headlined by a free Legendary and backed by a stack of free Units. This guide covers every anniversary costume, which were free, which were paid, and which were locked behind a membership. Checked 9 September 2026.

The free anniversary rewards

The centrepiece was Jeff the Land Shark's Legendary "Business Shark" costume, handed out free for completing matches during the event — a full Legendary at no cost, which is genuinely rare in this game. Alongside it, players could bank around 1,500 Units through daily login bonuses, plus up to 600 more Units from a "Rivals Assemble" invite-a-friend track. For a free player, the anniversary was the single best window of the year to stock up.

The paid anniversary costumes

On the premium side, Venom's "Gummy Surprise" and Blade's "Restful Recovery" hit the shop, and from 5 December a Van Dyne's shop rotation added the Legendary "Daring Daifuku" Psylocke skin. A Legendary Luna Snow costume, "Cherry Delight", also arrived — and notably it appears to have stuck around as a permanent shop addition rather than vaulting like most event skins. Legendary bundles here ran at the usual ~2,400 Units.

The member-exclusive costumes

Two costumes, for Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman, were member exclusives available only to paying NetEase Gamer Premium subscribers. Those are the anniversary skins that now count as genuinely scarce, because they were never on general sale — the kind of availability-gated costume that ends up on any rarest Marvel Rivals skins list. Rarity in this game is about who could get a skin and when, not how much it cost.

What to expect for the second anniversary

The game launched on 6 December 2024, so a second-anniversary event is likely again in late November or December 2026, overlapping the winter holiday drop. If it follows the 2025 template, expect another free Legendary or high-value free costume, a run of daily-login Units, and a set of premium anniversary bundles. It is the event to save Units for. We will confirm the 2026 line-up here once it is announced rather than guess.

For how the currency, tiers and seasons fit together across the whole game, the full Marvel Rivals skins catalog is the place to start, and it flags which anniversary costumes remain buyable versus vaulted.

Why the anniversary is the best value window of the year

No other event in the Marvel Rivals calendar gives away as much as the anniversary. Between the free Legendary Jeff costume, roughly 1,500 Units from daily logins and up to 600 more from the invite track, a returning player could walk away with a premium skin and over 2,000 Units for nothing but showing up and playing. Put in real-money terms, that stack of free Units is worth around $20 of Lattice, before you count the free costume. That is why the standing advice is to treat the anniversary as your annual restock: log in every day of the window, clear the free tracks, and save the Units for the costumes you actually want rather than spending them the moment they land.

The member-exclusive debate

The Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman member-exclusive costumes were the most divisive part of the 2025 anniversary. Locking cosmetics behind a paid NetEase Gamer Premium subscription — rather than selling them for Units like everything else — meant that even players willing to spend could not simply buy them in the shop. That is what makes them genuinely rare today, and also why some players objected: rarity by subscription feels different from rarity by a costume selling out. Whichever side you land on, the practical point is that these two skins are effectively unobtainable now, and no legitimate route brings them back.

How to prepare for the second anniversary

If the second anniversary follows the first, plan around it as the year's key window. Come into late November with a light Units balance so you have room to bank the free login rewards, then hold those Units until the premium bundles reveal so you can spend deliberately rather than on impulse. Prioritise the free costume above everything — a free Legendary, if they repeat that, is the single best-value item of the year — and only then weigh the paid anniversary bundles against what else you want that season. Because the winter holiday event runs almost immediately afterward, keep some Units in reserve for it too.

What the anniversary told us about the game

Beyond the individual costumes, the first anniversary was a statement about how Marvel Rivals treats its cosmetic economy. Handing out a free Legendary and thousands of free Units to celebrate a birthday is a goodwill move that not every live-service game makes, and it fit the game's wider stance: cosmetics are the whole business, but they are priced and given out generously enough that a patient free player is never locked out. The event also showed the developer is comfortable mixing free giveaways with premium bundles and even subscription-only items in a single window, which is worth remembering when you budget for future events.

It is also a useful reminder of why dates matter so much in this catalog. Every anniversary costume above carried a specific window in late 2025, and the ones that were not made permanent have since vaulted — the free Jeff, the Psylocke Legendary and the member exclusives are all gone from normal access now. Recording exactly when each was available, rather than implying it is still buyable, is the difference between a catalog that helps you and one that sends you hunting for a costume that no longer exists in the shop. If a second anniversary repeats the pattern in late 2026, we will add its costumes with fresh dates rather than leave last year's entries reading as current, because a birthday event is only useful information while its window is open.
