The best Marvel Rivals skins
A curated pick of the best-looking Marvel Rivals costumes across every rarity — chosen by design, not by price — plus how "best" differs from "rarest". Prices in Units, checked 9 September 2026.
The best Marvel Rivals skins are the ones whose design carries across the whole hero — silhouette, effects, and the MVP animation — not simply the most expensive. Because every costume is cosmetic and none of them are tradeable, "best" is purely a question of looks and presentation, so this is an opinionated pick rather than a value ranking. Below are the costumes we would spend Units on first, grouped by the kind of player they suit.
Best overall: Legendary costumes that change everything
For pure spectacle, the Legendary tier wins because it is the only tier that reworks a hero's effects and voice, not just the model. A Legendary skin usually costs around 2,400 Units as a bundle, and the extra spend buys custom ability visuals and sometimes a new intro — the parts that actually read in a match. Luna Snow's Cherry Delight and Psylocke's Daring Daifuku, both from the first-anniversary drop, are the reference points: full idol-styled redesigns with matching effects. Cherry Delight is a rare case of an anniversary Legendary that stayed in the shop permanently.
Best value: Epic costumes that punch above 1,400 Units
If you want the strongest look per Unit, the Epic tier at 1,400 Units solo is the sweet spot, and Magik is the poster child. Her Phoenix Demon costume is a complete remodel for the price of a standard Epic, and she has one of the deepest wardrobes in the game, from Netherworld Noble to the Retro X-Uniform. The full Magik skins list walks through each one. Epics are also the tier most likely to return to the shop, so a missed one is rarely gone for good.
Best seasonal: the costumes worth catching in their window
The seasonal lines produce some of the sharpest art in the game, and the catch is that most of it vaults when the event ends. Scarlet Witch's Queen of the Dead from the Halloween 2025 event is the standout of that run, and the winter set's figure-skater takes on Cloak & Dagger showed the art team having fun with a theme. If a seasonal costume you love is in the shop, buying it in its window is the only reliable plan — there is no re-release calendar to wait on.
Best free skin: what you can earn without spending
The best free costume so far was Jeff the Land Shark's Legendary "Business Shark", handed out for completing matches during the first-anniversary event — a full Legendary for zero Units. Free Legendaries are rare; most free skins are event costumes like the Punisher's Sandstorm Soldier or the free winter Magneto. Our guide to free Marvel Rivals skins lists the current routes, and the honest limits on them.

Best versus rarest — they are not the same list
The best-looking skins and the rarest skins overlap far less than you would expect. Rarity in Marvel Rivals is about availability, not quality: the scarcest costumes are the ones you can no longer buy — closed-event rewards, Twitch drops, platform promotions and members-only skins — regardless of how they look. Our rarest Marvel Rivals skins guide covers that angle, and the full Marvel Rivals skins catalog lays out every tier and season so you can judge for yourself.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Marvel Rivals skin?
By design and presentation, the anniversary Legendaries like Luna Snow's Cherry Delight and Psylocke's Daring Daifuku top most lists, because Legendary is the only tier that reworks a hero's effects and voice. Best is subjective, though — it is a look, not a stat.
What is the best-value skin tier?
Epic at 1,400 Units solo. You get a full remodel for well under a Legendary's price, and Epics are the tier most likely to return to the shop if you miss one.
Do better skins make you play better?
No. Every costume is cosmetic with no stat effect, so a Legendary and a default skin perform identically. You are paying for looks, effects and animations only.
Are the best skins ever free?
Occasionally. The best free costume to date was Jeff's Legendary Business Shark from the anniversary event. Free Legendaries are rare; most free skins are event costumes earned by completing missions.
